Tesseract, 2019

~20 foot tesseract was built from PVC and wood with twine and steel used as supports. PVC joints were sealed with PVC cement and Apoxie sculpt. The original design was for the cubes to rotate freely in the wind by being seated within two industrial ball bearings. In the end this was structurally impossible.

Doorknobs, 2020

Doorknobs were created as my final project for Sculpture I. They are two doorknobs hand carved from oak blocks. The backplate is cast from a mold of a 20th century doorknob backplate. The casts are in pewter and the molds are silicone. The faceplates of the doorknobs are portraits of my grandfathers carved into Sculpie then cast in pewter. The wood is two pieces of stained 2X4s.
